124 kmh on a 70cc kit now that is really hard to believe. let alone 70cc pushing 40 percent taller gears.[/quote]
70cc scooters can do much more then 124kmh. i know plenny 70cc minarellis that can do 85mph plus and these are bikes that are used on the streets. |

| From MY experience you do need ALL 4 STUDS to seal the case. The boost port mod is good, and if there is enough "meat" to hold a stud all the better. I am just trying to learn from someone willing to share . The ZIP is a wheelie machine waiting to happen, and my real passion is 50cc screamers. Maybe you have a SECRET? Keep posting Bro! I just used a conversion program that says 124kph =77.05003mph. with 40% gears that HAS to be on a decline... |

And i forgot something to say, the new gears are 40% longer than the original gears!
With my engine and the original gear i was able to drive 80 kmh, it was very short . |

Yes, I wouldn't build an engine without using all 4 studs. I'm nearly certain that if you pressure tested that engine it would exhibit a leak at the base where the bolt is missing.
77 mph is entirely possible out of a 70cc build.
Project looks good Pia-Blaster, thanks for sharing so far! Looking forward to more.

Of course its possible in know.....i drive it =)
im waiting for my new cilindre which is al mot more powefull than my old sport. at summer i will buy a new exhaust, a mhr team exhaust which will be the perfect exhaust for this clindre.
But there is one disadvantage, i have to change the piston rings every 6 hours, the piston every 20 hours....but thats ok for this power.
And i will buy a 24mm carburator, the 19mm is too small. |

how come you have to change rings so much and pistons so much. i've seen plenny race bikes that didnt change rings and piston that much. |

Because this cilindre is not out of aluminium and it will loose power after this 6 hours. I can defenetly drive them more than 6 hours, but i want a strong engine and i dont want to risk to damage the cilindre.
I do not use it anymore for street, its more an racing scooter.... |

In the States we have the SR50 with Piaggio motor. It only comes with
fuel injection, carbureted is not available. With the use of the Malossi
digitronic conversion kit, a carb is now available for use. I've done this
with excellent success. I'm very happy with my TP Due Plus 70cc, and
21mm Dellorto black. I use stock gears though, so wheelies are possible,
and top speed is in the range of 60-65MPH.
Welcome to the boards. |

Welcome to the boards.
piaggio motors become pretty fast with just minor mods. my typhoon with only the cheapest MK bore ($125) and the cheapest leo pipe ($100) i can get 55mph to 65mph. it just depends on how much wind. typhoons are the cheapest scooters in the U.S. with piaggio engines, the sticker price was less then $1500.00 |
