Hi, I have a program for designing an exhaust port shape, then I print it on a trasparency, cut the shape out and use it as a template on the cylinder wall. |

Finished the cylinder tunnels, turned out even smoother than stock, there are some minor imperfections on the walls I won't bother with because you can't even feel them when you run the finger over the walls.
Now I have to mount the crank, measure the timings, and start working on the inside of the cylinder. weee can't wait, nothing compares to porting a brand new cylinder
Just for comparison, this is how small stock tranfer tunnels are.
Manifold has been welded, turned out great, it's not from stainless steel so I'll have it powder coated after I give it to the machine shop to turn/mill 2mm from the base and make a smooth sealing surface.

cut the cylinder skirt to make the flow towards the transfers better. I forget to take before-pics to see what a big difference it is.

| just the way I cut the cylinder skirt. Passing along to other tuners as it is a proven way to do it. Take the piston and put it in the cylinder to where it bearly opens up the trenfer ports. Then you can see if there is any materal blocking the piston. Just trace the shape of the bottom of the pistons skirt against the cylinders linner and cut away. This is a tuners secret too so you didnt hear it from me. |

Thanks for the tip, but I am not sure if I understand what you mean.
On my kit, cutaways under the transfer tunnels on the cylinder are wider than the cutaways on the piston skirt so when I put the piston in the position when it bearly opens up the trenfer ports then actualy part of the piston can block the charge going into the transfers.
It's hard to explain without the pics.
I am off to the vacation in a few hours so will take some pics when I get back. |

Nothing new with my engine just wanted to share a photo of the malossi 172 AC cylinder I did for a friend today, ex. port at 69% of the bore diameter.
Just note that the photo was taken before puting chamfers on the edges.
cheers
