De-restricting the Leo Vince ZX Expansion Chamber

Written and Submitted by Javier Gonzalez

The Leo Vince ZX Expansion chamber is a very popular choice for people looking to get a little bit more out of their scooters. It's got great value, and decent performance! The downside to the ZX though, is that it comes ladened with restrictors! There are two restrictors in the exhaust pipe that you'll need to get rid of before you can experience the maximum performance of the Leo Vince ZX Exhaust.

In this article, Javier explains exactly how to remove these restrictors! Javier is a regularly contributing member on Scooterforum.net and the Scooter Invasion Forum, and can be found on both forums under the username "Mexicano". Be sure to check out his Vento Triton r4i Project!

Here you can see how to remove the small restrictor. All you need is your dremel!
Here you can see the small piece inside, I used a wire to hold it and keep it from falling inside.
Now using a harder wire to pull it out, you must grind the weldings very well.
Got it out!

This is an easy task... Just cut after the first cone with a good hacksaw, use the weld line as a guide.

This photo shows how the cut should look.
You'll see the inernal bafle inside, it has 4 small welds to hold it in place:
Here you can see the complete piece of ****.
BOTH Restricotrs, restrictor No.1 is at the flange at the cylinder, only two small welds hold it, very easy to grind with a dremel, be careful not to push it inside or you will never get it out... until you cut the complete pipe.
Ready to be welded again.
Be sure the metal is clean so you get a good weld.
Welded...
Ready to grind and file the weldings.
